The contribution made by a large number of volunteers & Karayogam staff besides the elected office- bearers for the effective functioning of the Karayogam in its various spheres of activities, is enormous. Their selfless services go a long way in making Ernakulam Karayogam a force to reckon with in all walks of life. What sets apart Ernakulam Karayogam from other Karayogams ' elsewhere in the State, is its fully independent status, without any affiliation to any other Karayogam and this distinction is exclusive to Ernakulam Karayogam in fulfilling its aims and objectives.
Eligibility for Membership of the Karayogam Members of Nair families residing in the area within the Kochi Corporation Limits and For Associated Membership within the Ernakulam District geographical boundaries are eligible. Those who are completed 18 years of age and residing for more than 5 years within the above geographical boundaries are eligible for membership. The membership of the Karayogam as on date is around 4067. There are two types of membership in the Karayogam. One is Life membership for those who fulfil the criteria laid down in the Karayogam bye laws for membership. The membership fee is Rs.25000/- and application fee Rs.500/- and Rs.2000/- as Lifetime contribution to charity fund Such Members are eligible for concessions as fixed by the Karayogam from time to time. The other is “Associate Membership” enrolment. This enrolment makes the person eligible to avail the services and facilities offered by the Karayogam. The membership fee is Rs.50000/- & Rs.2000/- as Lifetime contribution. While such persons become eligible to avail the facilities and services of the Karayogam along with other members, they are precluded from attending the general body meetings and also do not have voting rights.
